North Staffordshire HIV/AIDS Forum

3rd August 2000 Main Points:

• The Terms of Reference of the HIV/AIDS Forum have been modified to include specific targeting of women and Black & Minority Ethnic Groups.
• A sub-group of the HIV Forum is to be established to meet three times over the next year to focus on specific clinical issues — up to £500 is to be made available to facilitate this process.
• The Antenatal Testing is to begin in early September. Media Campaign and Public Launch will take place from 5 September. All members of the Forum were encouraged to disseminate information.
• Service User Report was presented to the group - points discussed
• HIV 2000 Conference has been organised for 15 November at the Upper House Barlaston
• Links to the Sexual Health Partnership axe to be reviewed on receipt of the National Sexual Health Strategy.
• Concerns were raised about the effect of a document on Oral Sex. A local leaflet is being produced to clarify the risk factors.
