A
true story (sent in by one of our readers) Buddy was brought to us because the inhabitants of the village where he lived were complaining that he was entering their houses and stealing their cats food. Buddy had nowhere to call home and no one to call friends or family, and this was the only way he knew of surviving. All he wanted was someone to take him in and look after him. Instead all Buddy could expect was raised voices shouting at him, and, more often than not, a bucket of cold water being thrown at him. When Buddy arrived in kennels he thought he had landed in the lap of luxury. Regular meals, a comfortable blanket, kind words and shelter from the rain, were all new to him. He was ridiculously affectionate and almost fell out of his bed because he was so keen on having his tummy tickled. He purred like a tractor engine. But Buddy still did not have a family to call his own. Sadly he had contracted the FIV virus (which humans cannot possibly catch) and so needed an indoor home to keep it from spreading. Buddy found a wonderful new home in the end, with plenty of opportunities to lavish love on his owners. But there are always cats with FIV needing indoor homes... |
