BODY & SOUL

Did you know we have copies of Body & Soul newsletter? Body & Soul is a self help organisation supporting :

Women, Heterosexual Men, Children & their Families.

The following article appeared in the Nov/Dec edition of the B&S newsletter:

‘The Premiere of “SPIRIT OF YOUTH” showing at the ODEON WEST END on December 1st as part of the World AIDS Day Celebration. Some members of TEEN SPIRIT took part in LWT youth programme “Love Bites” in February this year. Since then, things have rushed ahead with TEEN SPIRIT wanting to produce an Educational Film which allows them to talk openly about the difficulties they live with on a day-to-day basis. The film also aims to tackle the prejudice and stigma that still surrounds HIV & AIDS and more importantly, hopes to reach those who are affected by HIV & AIDS but are living in isolation. Members of TEEN SPIRIT started filming in August and it has continued right up until November -working to ‘celebs’ busy recording/filming schedules Seema, a volunteer of TEEN SPIRIT, has been ‘on call’ since August, interviewing people like Adrian Lester, Daniela Nardini; and Boy bands, Another Level and Damage. What a hard job! The Film will be launched at the ODEON West End and hosted by Anita Roddick, Hinda Hicks, Damage, Truce amongst others. This is a first for British Youth talking about their experiences of living with, or directly affected by HIV & AIDS.’

The Hanley centre now has a copy of this video. Like all other videos, cassettes, books etc it can be found in the back room. Most of these things you can borrow to take home - or view at the centre by arrangement with Neil.
