To
access therapies potential clients may speak to Betty, Theresa, Rosie
or Peter Turner at Staffordshire Buddies. If desired an informal chat
in private could be used to inform people of what therapies are available
and what is involved, so that they can choose if they want a therapy and
if so which one. Not all therapies entail a hands on approach. For instance-Bach
flower remedies are taken by mouth. If after an initial chat a person
wishes to have a therapy the therapist would need to do an initial assessment.
On the first visit therefore the therapist would not do a treatment, but
would want to know about the person’s history for example what operations
or accidents the person has had and how they are feeling. A client only
needs to give information that they feel comfortable to give and all information
is held in confidence. After an initial consultation the therapist will
advise on a course of treatment. The client will be asked if they agree
to this. The therapist will periodically reassess future needs as she
works with a client to try to improve quality of life and physical health.
